I can never stop drooling over this collection. Total perfect. Never will get old.

I've been researching about this collection for my textiles project. In serious detail. But it's good because I know now who was behind this masterpiece and what their inspiration was.

Givenchy Fall 2010 Couture

Riccardo Tisci, Givency Creative Director, was inspired by Frida Kahlo, the Mexican (crazy) self portrait atrist; who captivated  by the wonders of the spine. Tisci has used this obsession in his garments as you can see a long line travelling right to the end of the dresses. Also on the back, a zipper represents the spinal cord which looks like tiny bones. He claimed the collection was "A romantic way to see death". There was no need to use many black or very dark clothing, the lace and ostrich feathers pulled of this gothic look stunningly.

One Swarovski crystal dress took 1.600 hours to complete! Most of them were too heavy to lift.

Fascinating, ay?
